Navigating COVID-19 While Wedding Planning

It is no secret that COVID-19 has impacted our country in heartbreaking and unexpected ways. Planning a wedding can be stressful enough without a global pandemic. Here at The Stable At Bluemont Vineyard, we want to help you navigate your options as a bride-to-be during these unforeseen times.

So you’ve decided to postpone your wedding. Although it may not have been easy, we know that you and your partner made this decision with the best interest of your family and friends at heart. While your wedding day may not be the way it was originally planned, we think there are still some ways to celebrate and stay positive as you await your big day.

Send a fun Change the Date card to your guests.

Share the news of your new date in a creative and classy way by sending your guests mail letting them know that you’ve changed your wedding date. This will give you a fun way to keep your guests informed and allow you to be creative from home.

Celebrate with Bubbles on your original wedding date!

Pop the bubbles like Bluemont’s Sparking Rose! Treat yourself to a fun drink with your partner and celebrate the happy days to come. Take a breather and try to stay grounded with the new changes that you’ve made. The truth is that you have worked hard to plan an amazing day and it will still happen. Don’t look back, the best is yet to come!

Create extra accent decor and search for inspiration.

Take your extra time at home to create little details for your wedding. Spend time browsing Pinterest and other online sites to see if there is something you might want to incorporate with this bit of extra planning time. Maybe now is the perfect time to hand paint those wooden signs or put together welcome bags for your guests. Be creative and make it fun like including tickets to Great Country Farms for guests staying the weekend and looking for additional activities before or after the wedding.

Remain calm, grounded and positive

Although things may not look like you imagined, stay calm and remember that we are all in this together. As a team, we are here to support you and are doing everything in our power to make this transition as smooth as possible. We want to thank you for being flexible and trusting us. We can’t wait to celebrate your big day!

“I am supposed to be getting married this year!”

If you are unsure about what decision to make for your wedding, our first piece of advice is to take a deep breath! Here at The Stable at Bluemont Vineyard, we want you to feel confident in every choice you make. You will want to contact your vendors to learn about any policies or changes they may have. It may be more challenging to plan your big day from your couch, but it is a great time to search online for inspiration, daydream of your perfect day, and imagine all of the special details. A great way to keep your spirits up is to stay in touch with those close to you or your wedding party by virtually chatting and celebrating the milestones along the way to your big day.
